Resolving EMDR Avoidance for Clinicians (REAC)

Have you invested the time and money to learn EMDR Therapy, only to find yourself avoiding using it with clients?

You’re not alone. There are many reasons that EMDR-trained therapists end up not using the therapy with their clients or using it infrequently:

  • Don’t know how to start
  • Not sure how to integrate it with my other approaches/techniques
  • Afraid client will be too reactive
  • It makes me feel anxious in general
  • I don’t know why…I just don’t do it

An Integrative Approach to Overcoming EMDR Avoidance

Using EMDR Therapy to identify and overcome fear and stuck places, along with Integrative Coaching approaches to build and maintain new habits, Beverly Swann can help you set and achieve goals for successfully integrating EMDR Therapy into your practice. Typically, clients see significant results after one assessment session, two EMDR sessions, and four coaching sessions. Sessions are spread out over time depending on schedule availability and the client’s pace. The process can also be tailored to include more sessions if needed.

Process:

  • Initial complimentary half-hour consult (25 minutes)
  • Online assessments (self-paced)
  • Assessment session (50 minutes)
  • EMDR sessions (80 minutes each)
  • Coaching sessions (25 minutes each)
  • Follow-up online assessments (self-paced)
  • Ongoing coaching as needed
